Does equal capacity mean equal runtime?
No. A simplified calculation using 85% usable energy gives 870.4Wh for either model: about 8.7 hours at a steady 100W. This uses the same assumption for both; it does not establish equal real efficiency. Inverter idle draw, battery settings and temperature can affect the result.
Make the comparison around your trip
- Write your device list. Estimate energy between recharges and check simultaneous watts and startup loads separately.
- Check charging equipment. Identify the actual AC, vehicle or solar equipment you will have. A panel is not implied by a battery-only listing.
- Compare the same bundle. Include necessary cables, panels, delivery costs and return terms.
- Verify expansion. If you need more energy later, check exact supported hardware and total cost with each manufacturer. Do not infer compatibility from a brand name.
Which should you choose?
Shortlist the BLUETTI if its exact US bundle, ports, recharge options and delivered price fit your needs. Keep the EcoFlow in contention when its specific features or supported expansion solve a requirement you actually have. The matching headline ratings alone do not justify naming a universal winner.
For long periods without recharging, the first question may be whether either 1kWh battery is large enough. Build an energy budget before deciding.
